Be Your Own Kitchen Designer!

Ever walked into a friend’s kitchen and marvelled at its beauty? Or wished you had something similar in your own? Designing your own kitchen is something that has become a new trend in India today. Modern kitchens aren’t the ordinary carpenter-made structures that you used to see. Today, kitchen designs in India have taken a radical turn to become a central focus in homes today. You can visit a number of kitchen showrooms in Bangalore where you can get some great ideas. You never know where inspiration can come from! Designing our own kitchen can be a wonderful process for the whole family to enjoy and reap the benefits from!

Here are factors to consider while deciding your kitchen design:

1.        Colour
The colours that you choose in the kitchen will be according to your personality and what image you want to portray. If you want the kitchen to be a vibrant, happy, community place, then you can choose bright colours like reds, yellows and oranges to make it warm and inviting. For a more sophisticated feel, you can choose pastels or even shades of grey are very popular and give your kitchen a sleek, sophisticated look.

2.       Design
Modular kitchens in Bangalore have a strong focus on design. The cut of the sideboards (rounded or square) and the texture of the structures should all have a particular design theme which will go with the colour and various elements of the kitchen.

3.       Elements
Decide what elements your modular kitchen should have. Do you want it to be a place strictly for cooking? Or do you want it to be a space for the entire family to congregate and share moments together? You can choose to add plants or mini ovens for the kids to experiment their cooking skills in. If you want to give a family feel to your kitchen, then you can take place for a high table and stools so your family can cook and eat together! A community kitchen is great for small families so they can all be together.

4.       Safety
Especially if you have kids or pets (or both) in the house, the kitchen should be a hazard free zone and you should maintain the highest levels of safety.  Consider a proper door to prevent kids or dogs from crawling in. You should also maintain rules for kids in the kitchen. Your kitchen design should ensure that pets remain far from the heat and fire and preferably they should not be allowed in the kitchen!

5.        Hygiene

When designing a kitchen it is important to consider that hygiene levels must be up to the mark. The kitchen is where the food for the whole family is cooked, and every platform must be made such that it can be cleaned easily and there aren’t places and corners where dust can collect. The kitchen is also where cockroaches and bugs get attracted to. You need to ensure that the kitchen is easy to clean and maintain.
